Copper plating is a surface treatment technique in which a layer of metallic copper is plated on the surface of a metal, alloy or other material. The copper layer has good ductility, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, and is easy to polish. Appropriate chemical treatment can obtain decorative colors such as bronze, copper green, black and natural color. The copper plating process produces a uniform, fine and versatile copper coating. It is mainly used as a bottom or intermediate layer for nickel plating, tin plating, galvanizing and gold plating to improve the bonding strength between the base metal and the surface coating, and also to reduce the plating porosity and improve the coating. At present, the copper plating process mainly includes alkaline cyanide copper plating, cyanide-free alkaline copper plating, sulfate copper plating and pyrophosphate copper plating. The process of copper sulfamate, organic amine copper plating, citrate-tartrate copper plating and HEDP copper plating has also been developed this year. Among them, alkaline cyanide-free copper plating, bright acid copper plating and HEDP copper plating and other processes have been relatively mature, and can be selected by users for different situations.
